We are delighted to present an impact report on Warrington Youth Zone, following an extensive piece of research undertaken throughout 2024 by AMION Consulting following our first two years of operation.
Our state-of-the-art facility, based on Dallam Lane in Warrington Town Centre, has been created by the national charity OnSide Youth Zones and is exclusively for children and young people from Warrington.
This report was prepared by AMION Consulting, an independent research company, to assess the impact that Warrington Youth Zone has made since opening in July 2022.
There are a broad range of areas covered following consultations with children and young people, parents and carers, partner agencies and businesses from across the borough.
A number of benefits are highlighted below, with a comprehensive analysis contained within the report.
The report shows that the Youth Zone is delivering substantial benefits for children and young people who visit the Youth Zone, those surveyed highlighted that:
- 85% have made more friends
- 51% are more self-confident
- 46% are staying out of trouble
- Nearly 40% are more aware of the dangers associated with alcohol, cigarettes and drugs
- 40% are less worried about their health and about school
- 44% work harder at school
- 40% are less likely to miss school
