Sports Co-Ordinator

Job Title: Sports Co-Ordinator

Hours: Permanent: full-time, 40 hours per week

Salary: £22,500 to £26,000 (dependent upon experience)

Location: Warrington Youth Zone, Dallam Lane

You will develop and deliver an exciting programme of sports activities which will engage young people aged 8 – 19 years (up to 25 for those with additional needs) at Warrington Youth Zone.  To provide direct line management support, coaching, and development for sports sessional workers and volunteers to ensure young people receive a high-quality service.  To oversee the climbing wall, boxing gym, fitness suite, sports hall, skate park and 3G pitch. To utilise sport in the wider youth work agenda supporting and encouraging young people to express themselves, explore issues and facilitate personal development.

As a member of the team, you will be key in ensuring young people have access to an exciting and engaging programme, which could range from pool competitions to organising a debate on mental health or hosting an anti-bulling project.  The post holder will be responsible for creating a lively, dynamic, creative and fun-loving environment for all young people, whilst also creating space for young people to explore and discuss some of the big issues of the day and of course have FUN!

Job Title: Youth Sport & Fitness Worker – Boxing & Martial Arts

Within the Sports Team, we are looking for talented sports and fitness coaches to become part of a team with a wide range of skills, who are also passionate about working with young people. Ideally, you will have experience, or one or more coaching qualifications, such as a level 2 National Governing Body Award in either boxing, kick boxing or other martial art or qualification in pad work .

Our targeted youth work and projects, alongside arts and sport are at the heart of Warrington Youth Zone’s offer to young people.  Feedback from young people tells us that some young people want dedicated and safe spaces within their Youth Zone, this might be for signal gender work, LGBTQ+ groups or simply a safe space to talk and share.  This role is based in the health and well-being room (which is equipped with hairdressing and barbers chairs and a nail station) and you will work with all young people to provide a wide range of opportunities from informal education sessions, wellness projects, advice and support and the more traditional health and beauty pastimes, which may include young people exploring health and beauty as a career path.

Reception & Membership Lead (Seniors)

Job Title: Reception & Membership Lead (Seniors)

Hours: Permanent: Part time 23hrs

Salary: £5.12 - £10.00 per hour (national minimum wage +50p)

Location: Warrington Youth Zone, Dallam Lane

A vital front of house role, the reception is the first point of contact for Youth Zone members (children and young people aged 7 -19 years, up to 25 for those with additional needs) and their parents. You will be a key part of a welcoming and highly professional team who are positive about young people and will ensure that the Youth Zone functions to its maximum potential. Working across Warrington Zone’s various sessions, you will be responsible for giving every young person, guest and visitor receives a warm welcome. You will be responsible for the reception area, ensuring young people enter the session smoothly, processing new members, directing phone calls and enquiries, maintaining the membership database efficiently and carrying out regular communication.

Working as part of a small team, this role will cover the evening and weekend reception and membership for our Senior provision:-

Monday, Wed & Friday’s 3:45 – 21:15pm (5.5 hrs per shift)

Saturday – 15:45 – 22:15 (6.5 hour shift)
