Mental Health Support Worker – Youth in Mind

Job Title: Mental Health Support Worker – Youth in Mind

Hours: Monday-Sunday evenings, standard working hours 3:15pm-7:45pm, with opportunity to cover additional shifts throughout the week. Six-month fixed term contract.

Salary: £12.70 per hour

Location: Warrington (Dallam Lane)

The Youth In Mind mental health support worker will be key in supporting the Targeted Team in delivering an effective, structured wellbeing programme to children and young people from across Warrington.

The successful candidate will be responsible for working on our Youth In Mind programme, offering 1:1 wellbeing sessions to young people requiring a high level of support as part of a drop-in service. The role will be required to triage young people’s needs in order to signpost them to an appropriate service, either internally within the Youth Zone or to an external provider.

The service is commissioned by Cheshire & Merseyside NHS as part of ‘Warrington Place’ Starting Well plans to support ‘Children and Young Peoples Emotional and Mental Health & Wellbeing’. The project delivery is a partnership between Warrington Youth Zone and Merseycare ‘Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services’ (CAMHS).

What Success Will Look Like

To manage and ‘triage’ the needs of the young people requiring 1:1 support for their emotional health.

To provide a safe space where young people can talk openly about their mental health free from stigma and judgement.

To empower and encourage young people to access both internal and external support for their emotional health

To enable conversations through listening, helping young people to access support and information, and exploring effective ways of improving wellbeing.

Seasonal Holiday Club Youth Activity Worker

Job Title: Seasonal Holiday Club Youth Activity Worker

Hours: Fixed Term - part-time & full-time during school holidays

Salary: National Living Wage

Location: Warrington (Dallam Lane)

THE ROLE 

Warrington Youth Zone delivers a Holiday Club each school holiday throughout the year, and we are looking for dedicated and committed support staff. You will be part of a fantastic team working with around 80 young people aged 7 – 12 years old (Holiday Club) planning and delivering Holiday Club activities.  Warrington Youth Zone has a host of fantastic facilities including a music room, gym, performing & creative arts studio plus a four-court sports hall, recreational area and outdoor space. We want young people during the holidays to have somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to all whilst having lots of FUN! 

As a member of the team, you will be responsible for delivering an exciting activity programme to young people in line with your skills and knowledge, whether that’s running a game of dodgeball in the sports hall or a dance in the performing arts studio to a visual arts or photography session.  

We are a diverse staff team with a range of skills from sports coaching, creative arts, team building to cooking and much more.  

Our Holiday Clubs run every day from 8am-6pm from the Youth Zone. There are a range of hours from part-time to full-time available during the school holidays.

ASPIRE Support Worker

THE ROLE 

OnSide Warrington Youth Zone is aiming to recruit highly motivated, innovative people to the role of Aspire Support Worker (delivering personal care or none personal care). They will play a vital role working alongside the support staff and Aspire Club Team to provide disability holiday club provision in the Warrington area.  Our programmes are focused on children and young people with additional needs aged 6-19.

We are looking for creative and energetic individuals to inspire, engage and motivate young people through holiday club programmes. 

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of supporting and engaging young people in a youth work setting. They will have experience of working with young SEND young people to ensure the safe delivery of all sessions. 

The role will encompass a diverse range of tasks and responsibilities. In return, you will receive a rewarding and challenging opportunity with a charity that is committed to the social and personal development of young people and work within a highly focussed team to contribute towards the growth of OnSide Warrington Youth Zone.

Job Title: Arts Youth Worker; Film, Media and/or Podcast

Hours: Part time, from 8-24hrs per week.

The arts, alongside sport and youth work, is at the heart of Warrington Youth Zone’s offer to young people.

The arts offer is wide ranging and includes visual arts, music, media, dance and drama.

As a member of the creative arts team, leading on the coaching and teaching in film, media and podcast, you will be key in ensuring young people have access to an exciting and creative Film/Media/Radio programme that will be challenging, stimulating, fun, engaging and
developmental.

You will be involved in teaching the fundamentals of a single or range of arts activities, enabling young people to explore their creativity and grow their skills.

  • The Role
  • *Together with the Creative Arts co-ordinator, Junior Club and Senior Club co-ordinators, develop and implement a programme that is exciting, challenging and ever-changing.
  • *To listen to young people and and create a seasonal media and radio programme
  • *To work directly with children and young people to develop their skills and confidence to deliver a high-quality programme of activity that is exciting, safe and varied. work that is innovative, developmental and that directly responds to the diverse needs , concerns and interests of our members.
  • *To listen to young people and create an exciting media and radio programme
    *Introduce young people to the various forms of the media and radio arts industry such as
    production of radio shows, photography and creating short films.

Sports and outdoor pursuits, alongside the arts and youth work, is at the heart of Warrington Youth Zone’s offer to young people. 

The sports and climbing offer will be wide ranging, and as a member of the sports team, you will be key in ensuring young people have access to an exciting and engaging programme of adventurous activities that will be challenging, stimulating, fun, engaging and developmental. 

You will ensure the climbing wall is well used and maintained to a high standard by offering young people safe, exciting and challenging routes to climb in a friendly and welcoming environment.

You will provide supervision and advice to young people and support and guide members of Warrington Youth Zone’s staff and volunteers.
