NCS Assistant Team Leader

Job Title: NCS Assistant Team Leader

Hours: Seasonal June 2022 - September 2022

Salary: £700 per Wave

Location: Week One, Colomendy (North Wales) Week Two, Warrington

A new, exciting and unique opportunity within the NCS Team has been created, for an Assistant Team Leader

NCS is a nationally delivered personal development programme for young people aged 15 – 17 aimed at increasing confidence, personal skills and responsibility whilst ensuring that young people have a fantastic summer for young people.

NCS is run over two weeks. Week 1 is spent in North Wales at Colomendy Activity Centre taking part in outdoor activities , living independently and learning skills such as Enterprise, cooking and first aid. At the end, the young people have a celebration event and receive a certificate. 

Week 2 is a social action project based in Warrington. During this week, the young people will plan and deliver a young person led project to give young people an opportunity to give back to their community whilst developing their own skills.

Job Title: Youth Sport & Fitness Worker – Boxing & Martial Arts

Within the Sports Team, we are looking for talented sports and fitness coaches to become part of a team with a wide range of skills, who are also passionate about working with young people. Ideally, you will have experience, or one or more coaching qualifications, such as a level 2 National Governing Body Award in either boxing, kick boxing or other martial art or qualification in pad work .

Our targeted youth work and projects, alongside arts and sport are at the heart of Warrington Youth Zone’s offer to young people.  Feedback from young people tells us that some young people want dedicated and safe spaces within their Youth Zone, this might be for signal gender work, LGBTQ+ groups or simply a safe space to talk and share.  This role is based in the health and well-being room (which is equipped with hairdressing and barbers chairs and a nail station) and you will work with all young people to provide a wide range of opportunities from informal education sessions, wellness projects, advice and support and the more traditional health and beauty pastimes, which may include young people exploring health and beauty as a career path.

Within the Sports Team, we are looking for talented sports and fitness coaches to become part of a team with a wide range of skills, who are also passionate about working with young people. Ideally, you will have experience, or one or more coaching qualifications, such as Level 2 NGB including Level 2 Gym Instruction or above. Reception & Membership Lead (Seniors)

Job Title: Reception & Membership Lead (Seniors)

Hours: Permanent: Part time 23hrs

Salary: £5.12 - £10.00 per hour (national minimum wage +50p)

Location: Warrington Youth Zone, Dallam Lane

A vital front of house role, the reception is the first point of contact for Youth Zone members (children and young people aged 7 -19 years, up to 25 for those with additional needs) and their parents. You will be a key part of a welcoming and highly professional team who are positive about young people and will ensure that the Youth Zone functions to its maximum potential. Working across Warrington Zone’s various sessions, you will be responsible for giving every young person, guest and visitor receives a warm welcome. You will be responsible for the reception area, ensuring young people enter the session smoothly, processing new members, directing phone calls and enquiries, maintaining the membership database efficiently and carrying out regular communication.

Working as part of a small team, this role will cover the evening and weekend reception and membership for our Senior provision:-

Monday, Wed & Friday’s 3:45 – 21:15pm (5.5 hrs per shift)

Saturday – 15:45 – 22:15 (6.5 hour shift)
