Mental Health Support Worker – Youth in Mind
Job Title: Mental Health Support Worker – Youth in Mind
Hours: Fixed term until end March 2026; Monday-Sunday rota shifts, varying evening hours between the times of 15:00-21:00.
Salary: £12.70 per hour
Location: Warrington Youth Zone
The Mental Health Support Worker for ‘Youth In Mind’ will support the Targeted Team in delivering an effective, structured wellbeing programme to children and young people from across Warrington.
You will be responsible for working on our Youth In Mind Mental Health programme, offering one-to-one and group wellbeing sessions to young people requiring a high level of support as part of a drop-in service in various locations. You will be required to triage young people’s needs in order to signpost them to an appropriate service, either internally within the Youth Zone or to an external provider.
The service is commissioned by Cheshire & Merseyside NHS as part of ‘Warrington Place’, Starting Well and plans to support ‘Children and Young People’s Emotional and Mental Health & Wellbeing’. The project delivery is a partnership between Warrington Youth Zone and Merseycare’s ‘Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services’ (CAMHS).
Meeting targets as outlined by funders, contracts, and the Head of Targeted Programmes is a significant element of this role to ensure the quality of support young people receive to achieve outcomes.
This post involves a commitment to the completion of all relevant paperwork, reports and recording processes, ensuring they are both accurate and timely. Ensuring that monitoring and evaluation forms are completed with young people.
GENERAL INFORMATION
These Mental Health Support Worker positions are fixed-term until the end of March 2026.
There will be Monday-Sunday rota shifts available with various working hours being between 15:00- 21:00 at various locations across Warrington.
This will mean working flexibly across the week, at different locations to suit the needs of both the role and the individual.

Detached youth worker

THE ROLE
We are seeking a number of dedicated and passionate outreach and detached youth workers to join our team at Warrington Youth Zone.
As an outreach and detached youth worker, you will be responsible for engaging with young people in the community, providing support, guidance and resources to help them navigate challenges and make positive choices.
We are looking to engage teams of three youth workers on a daily basis to complete outreach work (detached from the Youth Zone centre) each evening around the Warrington area.
Detached youth workers will work five-hour sessions from 4:30-9:30pm (3-8pm on Saturdays).
The Outreach team will work on a rota according to availability.

THE ROLE
We have a number of vacancies available across our SEND provision.
Sunday – Springboard 10:45am – 3:45pm
Monday – Seniors – ASPIRE in the Zone 3:30pm – 9:15pm (Term time only)
Tuesday – Juniors – ASIPRE in the Zone 3:30pm – 8:15pm (Term time only)
Springboard and ASPIRE in the Zone are programmes for young people with additional needs or who need a little extra support to access Warrington Youth Zone.
As a member of the team, you will be key in ensuring young people have access to an exciting and engaging programme, which could range from pool completions to organising a debate on mental health or hosting an anti-bullying project.
The post holder will be responsible for creating a lively, dynamic, creative and fun-loving environment for all young people, whilst also creating space for young people to explore and discuss some of the big issues of the day and, of course, have FUN!

Volunteer Collection Box Coordinator/Driver
Job Title: Volunteer Collection Box Coordinator/Driver
Hours: Suggested time commitment - 8 hours per week

THE ROLE
As a charity, we depend heavily on the generosity of our Community, and collection boxes are a great way of gathering small donations from local venues and building relationships and awareness, which can lead to significant support over time. This role will require a confident and organised individual, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work from their own initiative with a proactive approach.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT TO BE DOING?
• Research into local businesses for collection box placements.
• Making contact with businesses to ask about placements.
• Use of our internal database to store and record information about box placements
• Have a basic understanding of charity law around collections and donations.
• Building positive relationships with local business owners.
• Manage the Youth Zones stock of collection aids.
• Regular contact with box placements to understand when they may need emptying or replacing.
• Stewardship, sending letters of thanks and certificates with donation amounts to vendors as required
• Cash handling and associated processes.
• Liaising with the Volunteer Driver about locations and details.
