On Friday 14 March, some of the young people from our Buddy Up programme were kindly invited to take part in a football coaching session with the incredible team from the Ability Counts project of the Manchester United Foundation.
The session took place at their Cliff Training Ground in Salford, allowing our young people to follow in the footsteps of greatness.
Five of our young people, kindly supported by one of our Buddy Up volunteers Rose (a keen footballer herself), were put through their paces with a fun and interactive coaching session by the Foundation coaches. The session finished off with a 5-a-side game too.
It was an amazing trip which really allowed our young people to access their wider community, and try something out of their comfort zone too.
The young people had a great time, and were a credit to themselves.
A huge thank you to Matt Pilkington and his team at the Foundation for their ongoing support, and also to Rose and Isabelle for their encouragement and giving up their time to be part of such a special occasion.
