CBRE volunteer time to help improve facilities at WYZ

We were thrilled to recently welcome the team from CBRE to the Youth Zone as they gave up their time to volunteer with us.

The day may have included pizza and music, but a whole lot of work was achieved as well.

CBRE fully immersed themselves in everything Warrington Youth Zone, helping us to maintain our great facility.

Their team including joiners, electricians and plumbers who transformed our building like DIY SOS to improve our offering to young people, who access the building every day of the week.

This incredible opportunity was created by our valued supporters at EE, whose building is maintained by CBRE. Thankyou EE for being amazing advocates for our young people.

Without the help of volunteers, we couldn’t provide opportunities for young people and give them somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to.

Joe Goldsmith, technical manager, said: “It has been a pleasure to be able to support Warrington Youth Zone. The team had a great day, and hopefully the expertise the team brought made a real difference to the building with the works that have been completed so far.

“I personally feel proud of what the team produced in such a short space of time. It has been nice to be able to give something back to the community.

“Thanks to Dave, Sarah and the wider team for having us, and we will be back again soon.”

Steph Thelwell-Lyons, CBRE workplace experience manager, said: “Thank you to Warrington Youth Zone for allowing us the privilege to volunteer. Your generosity in welcoming us into your community and providing us with opportunities to contribute have been truly uplifting.

“We are grateful for the chance to support your important work, and look forward to future opportunities to work alongside you.”

Sarah Brennan, Warrington Youth Zone fundraising co-ordinator, said: “The day was incredible. Joe arranged the day to make sure the team achieved as much as they could during their time here.

“On behalf of staff, volunteers and the young people, we will be forever grateful for all their hard work and the impact they have made to young people’s lives.”

We are always looking for people who are willing to lend a helping hand, so if you would like to support us, please contact: sarah.brennan@wyz.org.uk
