Property management company RAM Properties becomes the latest Founder Patron of Warrington Youth Zone, a brand-new young people’s charity set to open in 2022.
Warrington based RAM Properties was inspired to give back to their community and to support Warrington Youth Zone after learning more about the charity’s aim to provide thousands of local young people with somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to. Founded almost 30 years ago, RAM has focused on bringing life and character back to unloved parts of the town by acquiring disused or derelict buildings and breathing life back into them.
RAM Properties will join the Youth Zone’s family of Founder Patrons, a group of local businesses and philanthropists who are united in support of young people and their ambition to see Warrington flourish.
The new OnSide Youth Zone in Warrington will become home to Warrington Youth Club (est. 1952), an existing well-respected youth charity which currently operates four nights a week from sites across Warrington.
The transition of Warrington Youth Club into the new Warrington Youth Zone is being delivered by OnSide Youth Zones, a national charity which has created a network of Youth Zones in Bolton, Blackburn, Oldham, Manchester, Wigan, Carlisle, Wolverhampton, Wirral, Chorley with a further three Youth Zones opening in London this year.
Set to be built in the stadium quarter next to the UTC, the state-of-the-art Youth Zone will offer thousands of young people from Warrington access to an indoor climbing wall, 3G kick pitch, four court sports hall, dance and drama studio, training kitchen, arts and crafts space, fully equipped gym, music room with recording studio, enterprise suite and much more.
Once open in 2020, Warrington Youth Zone will open seven days a week for young people aged between 7 and 19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs. Young people will pay just £5 per year to be a member and then only 50p every time they visit.
With strong links to Warrington and a portfolio of town centre based properties, RAM believes the new £6.5million Youth Zone will boost the town’s prosperity.
A representative from RAM said “We are happy to show our continued support for the town and its people by backing the Youth Zone project.
“We wish Warrington Youth Zone every success in making changes to improve the town and helping the next generation become a part of that success too.”
Dave McNicholl, Chief Executive of Warrington Youth Zone said: “A huge thank you to RAM Properties for supporting Warrington Youth Zone. This exciting new project will provide Warrington’s young people with somewhere safe to spend their leisure time, discover their talents and develop their skills. By working together with the business community, we are creating an amazing space which will be enjoyed by Warrington’s young people for generations to come.”
