From Christmas lights to a listening ear, local businessman and Warrington Wolves Chairman Stuart Middleton helps supports new Wellbeing Warriors programme at town centre Youth Zone, thanks to his Christmas donation.
Stuart who is Warrington Born and bred, kindly funded 1000 tickets to Gulliver’s World at Christmas Time, providing many families with the chance to let their hair down and make memories. Warrington Youth Zone’s partnership with Gulliver’s World provides discounted entry to Youth Zone members each year, which is a great way to start the festive season for many low income families.
Parent feedback from the event “We will be forever grateful we could do this as a family, we have wanted to take the children for many years but it was something we couldn’t afford. Thank you”
In total the day raised an incredible £4,890 from ticket sales and bucket collections, the Youth Zone has now announced that the money will be spent to help fund Wellbeing Warriors, The programme has been developed to better support the emotional health and wellbeing of young people.
Wellbeing Warriors is 6-week programme run by our Emotional Health and Wellbeing Team. The scheme is aimed at upskilling and making Young People aware of not only their wellbeing but the wellbeing of others. It will cover a range of topics including, healthy relationships, loneness, self-confidence and self-esteem., as well as providing a safe environment to talk about issues they are facing.
“When Warrington Youth Zone reached out to say that some families were struggling to even fund the discounted prices, there was no way I couldn’t help. The fact that this has then gone on to support more young people with their Emotional Health and Wellbeing is great. The feedback from families was really touching. We all have to do our bit to help those less fortunate, times are hard.” Stuart Middleton
Sophie Bentley, Head of Fundraising at Warrington Youth Zone said: Stuart’s support has been vital, it has allowed us to respond to needs of our members quickly, without the time barriers sometimes experienced with traditional funding. These Partnerships, have allowed us to make lots of families happy at a time when they needed it most. We are so grateful for our relationship with both Stuart and Gulliver’s World and are looking forward to working together throughout 2023.
