Warrington Youth Zone has announced that local businessman Chris Purslow and his family have become a Founder Patron of the youth charity.
As a Founder Patron, Chris Purslow and his family have committed to making an annual charitable donation to Warrington Youth Zone, ensuring the Youth Zone opens with a wide range of activities and opportunities for thousands of local young people.
Currently under construction, Warrington Youth Zone aims to provide thousands of young people with somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to.
Building on the success and legacy of Warrington Youth Club, the new Youth Zone will open 7 days a week, offer young people over 20 activities every session. Young people aged 7-19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs, will have access to state-of-the-art facilities including an indoor climbing wall, dance and drama studio, fully equipped gym, skate park, training kitchen, music room with a recording studio, arts and crafts area, enterprise and employability suite and much more. Alongside a wide range of activities, youth workers will be available to offer advice and support to those who need it.
Chris Purslow said “I believe that Warrington Youth Zone will be a beacon of light for young people in our town. As a family we are proud to support Warrington Youth Zone, as it will be a truly first-class facility, offering inspiration and hope to local young people for generations to come. I’d like to encourage others to come forward and support this worthwhile charity.”
Founder Patrons are a special group of people and businesses with a vested interest in Warrington who will come together to support the Youth Zone. Each member of Warrington Youth Zone’s Founder Patron family pledges a long-term financial commitment, helping the Youth Zone to build strong foundations within the town.
Dave McNicholl Chief Executive of Warrington Youth Zone said “Founder Patrons will be forever associated with the charity and their commitment and endorsement will provide a positive legacy for future generations. On behalf of the young people of Warrington, I’d like to say a huge thank you to Chris and his family for their generous gift.”
The Youth Zone is being developed in partnership with OnSide Youth Zones, Warrington Council and local organisations and individuals.
