Warrington Youth Zone have recently launched a brand-new independent travel programme, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
Active Adventurers aims to support young people aged between 14-18 with additional needs/pathway for a diagnosis, for whom the use of public transport and travelling independently is a barrier to their everyday life.
We run separate six to seven-week cohorts, which include both interactive sessions within the Youth Zone, in addition to hands-on travel sessions which allow young people to experience both bus and train travel.
All travel costs are covered by Warrington Youth Zone, and the programme is funded entirely by the National Lottery Community Fund.
Since the programme began, our group of adventurers have already enjoyed travelling to locations in Warrington (by bus) and Chester (by train).
