Warrington Youth Zone’s Buddy Up Program Honored with Warrington Voluntary Action “Pledge” Award for Outstanding Volunteering Experiences

Warrington Youth Zone is thrilled to announce that its Buddy Up program has been awarded the prestigious Warrington Voluntary Action “Pledge” Award.

This recognition celebrates the program’s dedication to creating exceptional volunteering experiences that empower young people and foster a spirit of community engagement.

The “Pledge” Award is bestowed upon organizations that demonstrate a profound commitment to supporting volunteers, providing meaningful opportunities, and making a significant impact within the community.

Buddy Up, Warrington Youth Zone’s targeted programme, supported by BBC Children in Need, embodies these values through its innovative approach to volunteer engagement and mentorship.

Nuvvy Sibia, Buddy Up Project Co-ordinator said: “The concept of Buddy Up in itself is amazing on its own, but it is nothing without our incredible volunteers (Buddies).

“I am genuinely humbled, each and every day with the amazing commitment shown from our Buddies, and the incredible impact they each have on the young people whom they support.”

Buddy Up pairs young volunteers with peers who have additional needs, promoting inclusivity and mutual support. This program not only offers vital assistance to those who need it but also enriches the lives of volunteers by providing them with unique opportunities to develop empathy, leadership skills, and a sense of responsibility.
