Earlier this month, Warrington Youth Zone teamed up with the Diwali Basket Brigade to support families in need across the town through the delivery of food hampers.
The Diwali Basket Brigade have operated for around 10 years and are an incredible group of people supporting families and individuals from all faiths and backgrounds across the UK.
A wonderful lady by the name of Deepa Parekh manages the Manchester side of things each year, and is instrumental in ensuring that their support reaches as far as possible.
Warrington Youth Zone’s Nuvvy Sibia was introduced to Deepa in 2021 through his connections with The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT).
Since 2021 through WYZ, we have reached out to a number of schools across Warrington where we know that the food hampers will reach those families most in need.
Recently, some of the WYZ team travelled to Manchester (just like we did last year) and were gifted 300 food bags filled to the brim with essential, non-perishable food items, with each bag also containing a hand-written card.
The gift bags were then distributed across a number of Warrington schools, ensuring that those families within our community who need a helping hand are supported.
We’d like to thank everyone at the Diwali Basket Brigade for helping us support those most in need across Warrington, and we look forward to continuing to do so for many more years to come.
