NCS is BACK and is better than ever!
We are excited to be working with all schools across Warrington this year to deliver an unforgettable NCS experience for students in Year 11 and Year 12.
** Please note that if you are 18+ you will not be eligible to take part**
The NCS programme offers young people, an incredible opportunity to develop skills and take on new challenges that will set them up for adult life. They’ll also do something good for their local community, carrying out a social action project to support a cause they care about.
NCS will offer your young person to develop and give them the chance to;
- Meet new people
- Develop skills that will support their future
- Give back to their local community through voluntary action
- Take on new challenges
- Develop the skills and confidence to take on their next steps
- Generate experience for their university application, job/apprenticeship interview or CV and more!
WYZ has worked with NCS since 2012 delivering the life-changing experience for young people in the Warrington area. To date, we have worked with almost 4,000 teenagers, helping them to realise their potential and smash their future goals.
The programme will be 2 hours a week with different time slots and dates available. These will be offered on a first come first serve basis, so be quick!
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM THE PROGRAMME?
Starting on the 16th October 2023 for a 12 week period, you will cover the following;
- Independent living
- Employability and Work Readiness
- Social Action and Volunteering
The programme will complete on Wednesday 13th March 2024, a full timetable will be made available upon registration.
For more information please email Corinne Quayle at Corinne.quayle@wyz.org.uk or call at 07718565470. If your young person has additional needs, we will be delivering an inclusive version of the project on Sundays – please contact us for more information.
NCS is dedicated to providing a platform for young people where they can speak up, get their voice heard and tackle real-world issues close to home.
The experience might last just a few weeks, but the impact? That lasts a lot longer. Since day one, in 2011, nearly 600,000 young people have taken part in NCS, completing over 14.5 million hours of community action, and gaining priceless life experiences.
